Fasten Insulation with a Cordless Drill.

GYP-GRIP is a patent-pending, one-piece insulation fastener. It drills its own hole through the foam, installs with a standard cordless drill, and takes a snap-on thermal-break cap. The drywall version is available now, with wood, metal and concrete versions to follow.

Why GYP-GRIP

Designed to keep installation simple.

One Piece. No Assembly.

The screw is molded into the fastener, so there are no separate parts to assemble on site.

No Gas Tool Required

GYP-GRIP installs with a standard cordless drill and the T40 bit included in the box, rather than a dedicated gas-actuated tool.

Made for Drywall Sheathing

The drywall version fastens exterior insulation into gypsum sheathing, without needing to locate a stud.

Anatomy

A single molded part.

The screw is molded into a one-piece HDPE body. The ACME tip mills its own hole through the foam, the head takes the T40 Torx bit supplied in every box, and a thermal-break cap covers the drive once it's installed.

Installation

How it installs.

Each variant installs the same way. Only the embedded screw changes with the substrate.

Full installation guide
  1. Step 1: Match the variant

Choose the GYP-GRIP made for the substrate behind the insulation: drywall, wood, metal or concrete. The matching screw is already molded in.

  2. Step 2: Drive through the foam

Hold the tip to the insulation and drive it with a cordless drill and the 8" T40 Torx bit from the box. The ACME tip is designed to cut a clean hole as it goes.

  3. Step 3: Seat into the substrate

Keep driving until the head sits flush. The captive screw engages the substrate and holds the insulation in place.

  4. Step 4: Snap on the cap

Press the thermal-break cap onto the exposed head. It covers the Torx socket and helps reduce thermal bridging through the fastener.

Position it, drive it in, and snap on the cap.
